Back to the Mother Ship
October 6th, 2010
Well it has been a week now since I landed back in New Brunswick after ten days with Adventure Canada for Canadian Geographic circumnavigating Newfoundland on the Ocean Nova. With a lifetime of adventure behind me (and a lot more still to come I hope) this trip has to rank up there with the best. Not just for the landscapes and the feeling of being so close to the edge of the world, but also for the people of Newfoundland we met and for all those on board the Ocean Nova, crew and staff and guests. A great trip it was. The only bad news from the whole event was the passing away of Hank Williams, the geologist on board the ship (and a fine banjo player) shortly after we arrivedĀ back in St. John’s. His knowledge of all things geological was astounding, but it was his sense of humour and the tunes that he played that will always stay with me. Thanks Hank.
