Fog and Mist

August 26th, 2006

Sometimes it is great to get up early. Actually, for a person with a camera, it is always great to get up early. You can’t beat the light. So add a bit of fog and mist to the mix and it all comes together. But don’t forget a bit of sun. I had scrambled down the hill beside Mactaquac Dam last week to get some shots for a Canadian Geographic article I was working on. And it was foggy, but I was hoping for the sun to burn it off. Well, I shot for about half an hour and was really enjoying working with the huge shapes there when I decided the sun wasn’t doing its job, so I started to walk away. I got about a hundred yards from the spillway when I looked back and the sun was breaking through. I ran back, shot another ten minutes and really think I found something. Luck, and an early start.
